Salvation As A Journey
- Salvation is a journey from death to eternal life! One must travel through this natural life as a citizen of the eternal Kingdom of God from the time one repents of the old nature and is reborn in the Spirit, then allow the transformation to be completed through the renewing of one's mind by the Word and Spirit of God. The journey is full of adversity, affliction, and trouble. These, however, are instrumental in the believer's growth along the journey. These things help bring out the faith, hope, love, and other virtues of God as well as nurture the development of the fruit of the Spirit.
The journey leads to peace, contentment, and joy unspeakable
PEACE
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
CONTENTMENT
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. I Timothy 6:6
JOY UNSPEAKABLE
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:7-9
