As A Disciple, You Are Learning To Do The Work
The disciple's journey of learning to walk after the Lord is sacred. satisfying, and committed life of learning; doing the work of the ministry; and continuing to grow thereby. According to the scriptures there are various requirements to be a disciple of Christ: John 8:31-32 states "31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Also, in John 13:34-35 Jesus states "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another."
Proverbs 16:1-4 states "16 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. 2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits. 3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. 4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil." Beloved, let's serve the Lord with gladness!
As with the earlier stages of the journey of life, likewise the disciple involves a growth process with (steps) but of greater depth in learning of Christ and the work required. For the disciple, the fundamentals of growth in the faith involve a combination of studying/learning, life experiences, Challenges, counsel, and work of ministry.
